volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Mountains’ Humane Society Pet Rescue.

Dedicated volunteers play an important part in rescue. With committed volunteers donating their time and efforts, the animals get a second chance. There are many ways you can help by volunteering your time. Here are some of our volunteer needs:

TRANSPORTING:

We need help in transporting our animals to emergency transportation, vet appointments, bringing supplies to a foster home, bringing traps or crates to people needing help.

PHOTOGRAPHY:

Professional photos are very important when networking an animal for a foster or a forever home. We are looking for photographers to take pictures of our animals. Photos are the first thing people bond with when looking for their forever animal.

THRIFT SHOP:

When a MHS volunteer works at the Mountain Thrift Store in Blue Jay 100% of the proceeds goes to the animals. To volunteer there is a minimum of 3 hours or more a month and an application that needs to be filled out. MHS volunteer days are Wednesday 10 am to 1 pm and Friday 10 am to 4 pm. Please note that times may vary, so please inquire.

HOME CHECKS:

Before we will adopt out an animal we require a home check. This is important to make sure our animals are going to be in a safe environment. Some of the things we look for is the security of the perimeter of the fence to make sure a dog cannot get out, inside the home area where the animal will be living, etc.

LICENSED CONSTRUCTION WORKERS:

We are looking for licensed construction workers to volunteer their time (materials will be paid for) to help with minor repairs, build kennels and secure yards for Mountains’ Humane Society Foster pets.

Please understand that completion of this application does not assure approval. You may be requested to submit additional references and participate in additional interviews, all of which are considered part of the approval process.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
